Substituted pyrimido[5,6-b]quinoxaline-4(3H)-one-2-carboxylic acid compounds each represented by the formula IMAGE (I) wherein: R designates a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, benzyl group, and phenyl group; and each of R1, R2, R3, and R4 independently designates a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halogens, benzyloxy group, hydroxyl group, alkylthio groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and alkylenedioxy groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and formed by the bonding of two of R1, R2, R3, and R4, or pharmacologically acceptable salts of said compounds.
