Method and system permitting the processing of two-way connections in an electronic telephone exchange. A central logical control unit C introduces the items of information relative to a connection in the form of words into a sequential access circulating store M, through a parallel register R. This register sequentially receives the words leaving M and reintroduces them into M as long as their processing by C has not been completed. An exchange of items of information between words takes place with the aid of a buffer register T and a comparator A. The method and system are applicable to all information processing systems.
