The PIN diode phase-shifter for waveguides provides for shorter switching times for the diode control signals in order to obtain more rapid phase changes. This is achieved by reducing the input capacitance of the diode connections. A rectangular waveguide is fitted with a T schebyschev transformer in the form of a ridge waveguide electrically connected to the outer guide. The PIN diode heat sink is in direct contact with the transformer and at zero potential. The diode bias is connected to the inner conductor of a coaxial tube. H.F. isolation between the diode and the signal source is obtained by 1/4 wavelength cylinders, with 1/4 wavelength spacing, placed in the coaxial lead.
