The electronic insect exterminator acts in conjunction with a light source to attract the insects in the centre of the appliance. The light source possesses a certain frequency and light intensity, and combines several colours of the spectrum. Non-toxic chemical substances, in liquid, powdered or solid form, can be used to attract the insects, or the insects can be attacted by a combination of the two. The insects are killed by means of a high voltage of between 500 and 5000V, the amount depending on the type of pest being destroyed. The killed insects are collected by means of a collector trough underneath the appliance, which can be easily removed and replaced.
