Road accident warning system - has pegs passed through bumper bar to actuate switches and operate radio transmitter

The front and rear bumper bars are provided with a protective cover secured to the bumper bar at a distance by cup springs, and bolts. Apertures in the centre and at both wrap round regions of the bumper bar receive pegs carried by the protective cover. The pegs extend through the bumper bar to actuate terminal switches should the cover recieve a lateal or frontal blow. The terminal switches actuate a radio transmitter carried by the vehicle to give warning signals in both directions to other road users. The signals are fed to flashing lamps in the instrument panel. The flashing signs become stronger as the hazard is approached.
