The automatic watering device is for a flower pot with an outer pot and an inner pot which has a hole in the base region. A water supply tank is formed between the two pots and there is also a water filler pipe or channel and a ventilation pipe or channel passing from the base of the inner pot into the top part of the after supply tank. The ventilation pipe (3) or channel is so thin or can be so adjusted that air bubbles cannot build up. The water filler pipe (3) has its bottom edge lower than the bottom of the inner pot (2) or it has a constriction which is so thin or can be so adjusted that air bubbles cannot build up.
