Ski boot (1) has a rubber sole (2) with an integral heel (5) having cavities (6). The toe (4) of the sole (2) is extended to provide a means of attachment to the ski (10) by abutting against the stop (11) and being secured by the clamp (9). The rubber sole (2) is reinforced by a stell plate (7). Reinforcing ribs (14, 15) are provided in the central section (13) of the steel plate (7). There is one longitudinal rib (14) with three transverse ribs (15). These ribs permit the sole to flex up or down but increase the longitudinal stiffness and also provide greater torsional strength.
