Tool holder comprises a shaft with a recess to take a cassette containing a cutting unit, the cassette being fixed by a bolt to the shaft. The floor surface of the recess has a prismatic surface running in the lengthways direction of the shaft, and tilted downwards towards the workpiece. At its rear end the prismatic surface has a recess. The cassette has a projection coinciding with the prismatic surface, and a stop to engage in the recess, whilst on its back is an inclined surface contactable by a tension wedge. The side surface of the shaft recess has a cylindrical groove running towards the tension bolt. The tension wedge has a projection which coincides with the shaft recess.
