The automatic gearbox is particularly for motor vehicles, having two fluid couplings coupled to each other via differential or epicyclic gear train. Both fluid coupling impeller wheels and the gear train sun wheel are solidly coupled to the driving shaft, while the first turbine wheel is coupled to the annulus, and the second one to the driven shaft. The planetary pinion spindles of the gear train can be mounted in the second turbine wheel, which can be in two halves, one of which slides in relation to the impeller wheel. One or both turbine wheels can have a centrifugal governor, regulating pressure of the coupling fluid.
