Light fitting for advertising use - has lower basin accommodating fittings and upper matching transparent dome

Lighting unit esp. large area lamp unit for advertising use consisting of basin shaped lower section accommodating the electrical fittings and to be erected at the selected lamp position and a light transparent dome covering the open side of the lower section. The lower section (1) includes a groove (4) extending into the depth of that section and running along its outer edge into which the lower edge (7) of the dome (8) fits by insertion. The groove and the lower edge of the dome are fitted with common holding elements which hold them together. The groove is made in a 'U' shape and the holding elements consist of projecting nose elements which fit behind flanges (7) at the lower edge of the dome.
