The alarm responds to violent opening of breaking in of a door of a vending machine or other machine or premises to be protected. It has a bascule lock (2) on whose plate a microswitch (8) with a pin (9) is mounted. When the door (1) is closed, the pin is pressed to an internal component of the vending machine, so that its contacts are open. A further microswitch (5) is allocated to the bar (3) on the lock (2). It is mounted on the door (1) and is pressed by a bar (3) pushed out when the lock is closed, so that its contacts are closed.
