Motor cycle automatic clutch with kick-start - includes centrifugal clutch with shoes engaging inside surface of drum

An automatic drive clutch is for motor bicycles with kick starts. It consists of a centrifugal clutch in the engine casing. The crank shaft is used to drive a centrifugal coupling (12, 13) between the crank shaft and drive sprocket (15) which is connected to the transmission. On shaft (5) there is a kick start unit which turns a gear wheel (18) when a claw clutch (20) engages. This gear drives the clutch gear (16) through a counter shaft (4) and gear (17). The clutch is also driven by a gear (7) from the motor. A flywheel (6) smoothes the motion. When the engine speed is increased a brake shoe (13) engages the inside of hollow wheel (10) whose axle (3) moving freely within clutch wheel (9) drives the output sprocket (15).
