The injection device, for introducing a large quantity of liq. into the natural and serous cavities of large female domestic animals, is partic. intended for the treatment of internal diseases of the udder, such as bovine mammitis. The liq. is produced at the moment of injection by dissolving a solid in water in those cases where the props. of the solid prevent its preservation in aq. soln. The device comprises a large glass or plastic recipient for the medicament soln. and a small glass flask, in the nect of the large recipient, holding a solid prod.; the two containers are closed by the same rubber capsule. A hard, movable plastic stopper can be forced on the neck of the recipient and engage in a groove; it pushes the flask inside the large recipient and engage in a groove; it pushes the flask inside the large recipient and so prepares the soln. The latter is evacuated when the appts. is turned over and passes through a plastic tube and an intra-mammary probe. An orifice, at the base of the large recipient, is for filling purposes but also acts as an air inlet as the soln. is withdrawn. The appts. to be thrown away after use, can also be used for the treatment of metritis, peritonitis, septicemia of new-born calves and for intravenous and intraperitoneal injections, the canula being replaced by a needle, as required.
