The tank (1) is used for temporary storage of butter on the packing line, to compensate for production irregularities. It has double walls (2), the inner diverging outwards to the bottom. cold water is pumped through (3) during storage, warm water being circulated during emptying. In the bottom of the tank is a rotating extractor (12) driven by a motor and reduction gear (15, 17) in the base (10). this extractor has four curved blades directing the butter to the outlet (18) and a pump (19, 20). Inert gas is introduced through the top, or a vacuum is pulled (6, 7) during storage. Nozzles (8, 9) inside provide a water spray for washing out.
