A fuse holder for cylindrical fuses, comprises a drawer (12) which is provided with a compartment for carrying the cylindrical fuse (3). When in place the fuse has its axis parallel to the direction of movement into and out of a housing (16). Several such housings may be placed side by side in a fuse box. The housing carries a pair of identical resilient contacts (1 and 2) biased into the space occupied by the drawer when in position. The drawer (12) has an aperture (25) in its underside through which contact (2) may abut the end of fuse (3). The other contact symmetrically disposed in the housing, abuts the other end of the fuse. Chambers (10, 11) engage sampled parts of the contacts to deflect them against their resilient bias out of the path of the drawer when inserted or extracted.
