Tower crane installation process - uses tower erection rams with prop to lift base for travel bogie removal

The tower erecting rams (5) are extended slightly, to allow a prop (25) to be placed between the lower part (3) of the tower and the first bogie (16), after which they are retracted so as to lift the base (1) in relation to the first bogie, it being then chocked in this position. Extension of the rams then tilts the base again and lifts the second bogie (13), so that this can be removed. The rams are then retracted to bring the travel rollers (12) at this end down onto the travel rails (27) or a foundation and remove the chocks. They are extended again to lower the other rollers (11) onto the rails. The prop and first bogie are finally uncoupled.
