摘要
Anhydrous acid gels contain, per 100 g. propylene glycol, 0.05-3 wt.% carboxypolymethylene is 5-50 wt.% of the ethanolamine. The triethanolamine is 5-50 wt.% of the carboxypolymethylene. The gels can also contain 5-30 wt.% of =1 alcohol. The gel are used as dermatological excipients. Triethanolamine, when added to a propylene glycol/carboxypoly methylene mixt., causes it to pass through a viscosity max. at a particular triethanolamine concn. (which is less than the stoichiometric quantity requied for neturalisation), e.g. 'Carbopol' 934 (RTM) 1 wt.% and triethanolamine 0.2 wt.% on propylene glycol.
