Inert gas discharge lamp supply circuit - has oscillator driving battery:powered pushpull inverter coupled to lamps transformer

The supply circuit, for an inert-gas discharge lamp, consists of an oscillator coupled to a battery and driving the pushpull transistor of a static inverter coupled to the two primary windings of a transformer. The transformer's series secondaries supply the lamp via an inductor. The oscillator (3) is tuned to the frequency of the resonant circuit comprising transformer (6) and lamp (1). The primaries are coupled in series across the outputs of the pushpull transistors and their common point is connected to the d.c. supply.
