Coating surfaces with exchangeable decorative surfaces - using binder contg. iron powder in contact with binder contg. magnetic powder

Easily exchangeable surface decorations of stone, ceramic, wood or metal are applied to wall, ceiling and/or floor surfaces of the same and/or different materials. One of the 2 surfaces facing one another in final condition is coated with a binder layer (I) highly filled with Fe powder. The other of these 2 surfaces is coated with a binder layer (II) highly filled with magnetic powder. Layer (II) is magnetised and decoration is fixed by magnetic activity to layer to be decorated. Magnetic powder may consists of metal or metal oxide. Binder in the highly filled layers may be (i) inorganic and/or (ii) organic mastics, e.g. (i) cements, fine plaster or gypsum, or (ii) cold-hardening or thermosetting, esp. non-aq. liquid plastics. Compsns. may contain hardening catalysts and/or promoters. Decorative finishes can be removed, re-applied or exchanged without damage. Process is partic. useful for temporary decoration, e.g. at exhibitions, trade fairs, and in buildings.
