The paving is designed for inexpensive production and laying, and for flexibility, reliability, comfort, sound insulation and easy maintenance. Its elements are made of relatively elastic material, with regularly spaced hollows on the underside for ground laying. The base surfaces of these hollows are separated by flat underside parts suitable for laying on the ground. There may be a continuous flat smooth bottom layer on the underside, in contact with the underside and incorporating the hollows. The top may be contoured, pref. with each relief area corresponding to a hollow, or to a group of hollows.
