A fruit peeler, especially for citrus fruits, has a handle from which projects a steel rod bent into an elongate loop with a pointed tip. Across the loop is fastened a cutting assembly comprising a mounting plate (3) and a cutting plate (4). The mounting plate has its edges rolled over the loop rod, and two cutting blades (5) projecting from opposite faces of the mounting plate. The cutting plate has a blade projecting laterally from the mounting plate and beyond the loop, and is secured to the mounting plate by rolled edges (8).
