Continuous yarn winding unit - with hooked template to build up reserve windings and allow automatic start of main spool winding (BR 21.2.78)

In a continuous yarn winding unit, a reserve length is developed during spool changes for the start of winding on a new spool sleeve. A cathc slit builds a yarn reserve winding round the periphery of the centering disc and held in place is laid in place by the rotation of the disc and held in place by a catch hook on the yarn reserve template to allow the yarn lifter to take the yarn from the winding side to the yarn guide. The yarn is then drawn clear of the catch hook to be caught by a second hook at the other end of the yarn reserve template to be lifted by the yarn lifter on its next movement. A reserve yarn length of a specific value can be developed on the spool sleeve, independently of the relative position between the yarn guide and the initial winding point so that winding can be started automatically.
