Method for filling and closing sacks - in which closed sacks are filled through slot in wall which is closed after filling

The method is used for filling and closing bags or sacks provided with a bottom and a head seam especially plastic sacks with a side fold. The flat laying sacks are seized at their top end near their outer folded edge and their on each other resting side walls are pulled a part. The open sacks are fed to a filling funnel where they are filled through a filling slot in a wall positioned below the head seam. After filling the side walls of the unfilled top part of the sacks are pulled straight and the filling slots in the walls are closed by a cover sheet. The outer surface of the side wall where the filling slot is positioned is cleaned by removal of the top layer of the side wall.
