The binder may be operated automatically or semi automatically. It consists of a binding head, and a trolley which is able to move vertically up or down a support pillar by means of an electric or pneumatic hoist. The binding head is supported from the movable members (9) of equal length and which are suspended from ball bearings. A hydraulic jack mounted on the binding head forces the binding head onto the object being bound. A control panel is fitted to the side of the binder.
