New railway track and sleeper laying train - carrying spaced sleepers and rail sections, with sleeper layer and rail roll-off

The processor for laying new railway track involves a train of wagons carrying roll-off media with rail sections on top for unloading ahead. Each platform also carries layers of sleepers, spaced by underlays. The bottom layer remain raised above the permanent way (1), to permit free lengthways movement of rails. At a set interval there is a sleeper-laying device travelling by support on both sides of the ballast bed (2), and capable of loading a wagon with sleepers in a single process, and laying those of the bottom layer in several processes, then lowering and laying the other layers. This is repeated over a length corresponding to a rail piece. Rail pieces are drawn by winches onto roll-off media, thrust onto the sleepers, and fixed at enough points to permit the train to pass over the track.
