Two piece cornice for interior decoration - has base piece which fixes onto ceiling angle to receive clip-on moulded fascia

The moulded cornice for interior building decoration is of a two-piece construction i.e. a base piece (1) and a moulded fascia (2). The base is fixed (8) into the angle between the wall and the ceiling and the fascia (2) then clipped onto it. The arrangement obviates visible fixings and retouching of screw-holes. The base may be of a hexagonal cross-section with parallel front and back faces subtending 135 deg. with the remaining sides. For use in connection with tapestries, two timber strips (A1, A2) may be fixed to the two rear inclined faces to form projecting flanges. The flanges lie flat on the wall and ceiling surfaces and receive the edges of tapestries (T).
