The machine automatically produces cartons fitted with an inner liner, both being previously preformed and supplied flat. The first station picks up an inner liner from the magazine and opens it. This is assembled over a former having the same inner dimensions as the carton. At the following station, a carton is removed from a magazine and erected, both ends being open. One end is pulled over the liner on its former. Adhesive is deposited on the remaining end and the flaps sealed over to form the bottom of the carton.
