Double tape fibre rovings stretching appts. having a pair of draw rollers and a pair of discharge rollers is provided between the pairs of rollers with a pair of stretching endless tapes which are associated with a single stretching station only and which are tensioned and laterally registered by rollers engaging the idling run of the tapes. Device is for stretching rovings 5 to 15 times at discharge speeds of 500-1000 m/min. to produce yarns of 1000-100 tex. Tapes can be driven at speeds 0.55 m/sec.
