PURPOSE:To supply to tow in a constant state, by controlling the opening and closing of a flapper at the outlet of a chute with a signal given from a high-and low-level detectors and a specific timer provided on a crimped tow supply chute. CONSTITUTION:The high-and the low-level detectors 10a and 10b, and 11a and 11b are attached to the chute 2 for supplying a given amount of the crimped tow T received from the top inlet 3 to a heat-treating conveyor after a certain stay while folding the tow by the swinging cylinder 1. When the height of the tow T reaches the high level H, the flapper 5 at the bottom of the chute 2 is opened for a short time t1 and closed. The operation is then repeared for a given time t2, and kept in an open state. In the case of an obnormal operation, and the tow level reaches L, the flapper 5 is closed. At the high level H, the above operation is repeated.
