The mine gallery support system uses corrugated sheets with vertical side portions and curved top portions secured together to form supporting arches. These sheets incorporate channel portions (9) with their open mouths facing inwards, as seen in cross section. Each channel has an arm (12) projecting sideways so as to butt against the arm of the next sheet. Each arm has a flange (12a) facing inwards, so that two flanges can be secured by a bridging piece (13) with a seal (14) between. The edge of each channel has a lip (10) which projects beyond the level of the arms. The length of each arm is approximately equal to the width of a channel. The whole is designed to yield to a limited degree under pressure.
