Dichlorovinylcyclobutanones of the formula IMAGE wherein one of R1 and R2 is methyl and the other is hydrogen or methyl, or R1 and R2 together are alkylene having 2-4 C atoms, X is chlorine and Y is hydrogen, or X is hydrogen and Y is chlorine; processes for preparing them, and their use as intermediates for producing pesticidal compositions.
