Speed ratio control for tracked vehicles - has speed measuring mechanisms fitted to drive wheels whose signals can indirectly control steering box step-up

Speed ratio control is for a speed difference steered vehicle, especially a tracked vehicle such as a tank. There is a super-imposing gearbox for the drive wheels of each vehicle side, with a variable step-up traction gearbox between drive motor and drive wheels, whose take off is connected with the input components of the superimposition gearbox, and with a variable step-up steering box between drive motor and a further input component. Speed measuring mechanisms are fitted to the drive wheels on each vehicle side and their measuring signals can be fed via a device adjusted from the vehicle control wheel and a main control valve to hydrostatic adjusting mechanism which control the steering box step-up.
