Laterally movable railway vehicle wheel set disc brake - with transverse movements transferred to laterally displaceable interposed member on frame by suspension fish-plates

The disc brake is for wheel sets on railway rolling-stock, as mounted in the centre of three-axled bogie mountings, for curve negotiation. Brake blocks are mounted on the vehicle or bogie frame with an intervening member which is displaceable horizontally across the direction of travel. The connection between intervening member and vehicle frame may be effected by three suspension fishplates, two at least pref. able to swivel about common axes running in the direction of travel. This ensures that brake lining contact with the movable wheel sets in no greater than with the non-displaceable wheel sets.
