Gold alloys with porcelain coatings for dental prostheses - contg. rhodium in addn. to platinum, indium, iridium and tin

Gold alloy substrate onto which porcelain is baked for dental applications, contg. 80-90% Au, 5-15% Pt, 0.1-2% In, 0-2% sn and 0.05-0.5% Ir, also contains 0.5-3% Rh. Instead of, or in addn. ot the Rh, the alloy may also contain 0.1-2% Ta and/or 0.1-2% W. The Pd-free, Au alloy for dental prostheses, e.g. crowns and bridges, gives very satisfactory yellow colour and the alloy possesses all the required physical and mechanical props.
