Sets of three or more rollers for guiding the rods are positioned on a frame. Each roller has a hub (88) with a circular shoulder (90) and at least one circular disc (92), an outer support (94) and a needle bearing (96). In each case the disc is made from elastomeric flat material esp. a cut out from a rubber plate. Its height measured in the radial direction is several times its thickness. The support ring (94) is located with press-fit on the hub. The disc may be angled to the longitudinal axis of the hub. Two discs may be used, positioned parallel or angled relative to one another.
