The tool for extracting central moulds from the mould material has a pair of handles like pincers, each with an end (6'7'). Into a hole in the top of one end (6') fits a spiked piece (8), and a forked part (11, 12) is mounted on the other end (7') so that it can swing towards or away from the spike. Both tips of the forked part, and the tip of the spike have a sloping face (10, 14) forming the sharp point. The inside faces of all three tips have grooves (9, 13) across them, forming serrated faces. When the handles are fully open, the longitudinal axes of the tips are parallel, and when closed up, there is still a gap between them.
