An appts. for cleaning air, esp. to remove fibres and dust, comprises a slowly revolving, drum-shaped coarse filter and a drum-shaped fine filter, also pref. revolving, located inside the coarse filter and completely surrounded by it. Pref. a reciprocating suction nozzle in the annular space between the two filters removes dust from the outer face of the fine filter. Both filters pref. revolve continuously, e.g. on support rollers. The end faces of the filter drums may also be covered with filter material. The air extracted from the suction nozzle may be fed back to the outer face of the coarse filter.
