Seven segment display device for figures - with light from bulb applied to light conductors which illuminate corresponding segments

Light is applied to light conductors through transparent areas of a movable coded control diaphragm. Their outlet ends illuminate the seven segments in accordance with the position of the diaphragm. Light conductors are flat and stacked on top of each other. The light enters through a narrow side and emerges in the position and shape of the segment to be displayed. The light source is an incandescent lamp with a first lens producing a rectangular light beam with uniform light intensity distribution, and a second lens producing a convergent light beam for the light conductors. Convergence of this beam is adapted to the light conductors, so that light losses are a minimum.
