Mfr. of a coaxial h.f. cable with accurate characteristic (surge) impedance comprises controlling a surge-impedance determining parameter by means of a corrective magnitude which is formed from the deviation(s) of (an)other surge-impedance determining parameter(s). This is achieved by adjusting the rated value of a measuring instrument which is primarily set for the constant-regulation of the controlled parameter. The process is applicable with coaxial cables having cellular polyethylene as dielectric.
