The bowling pin positioning installation has the pins suspended on draw ropes and lifted or lowered by electrical controls. A slip coupling is fitted to the control shaft drive, and stops are available which limit the rotary angle of a control arm in both directions. These stops are located on gearwheels which mesh with each other and have differing number of teeth. The control arm is fitted on a shaft which works on conjunction with elements for varying the drive speed of the pin rope. The arm carries a permanent magnet working in conjunction with several arc-shaped, stationary tongue switches which are magnetically influenced.
