Hair treatment compsns. giving good combing properties - contg. amphoteric nitrogen contg. polymer and amphoteric, anionic and nonionic surfactants

Prepn. comprises (a) 0.25-2 wt.% of an amphoteric, water-soluble, nitrogen contg. polymer which is essential to the hair; (b) 0.5-10 wt.% of an amphoteric surfactant; (c) 2.0-25 wt.% anionic surfactant; (d) 2-10 wt.% non-ionic surfactant; and (e) water to 100%. The pH of the mixt. is adjusted to 5.0-7.0. The prepns. leave the hair mangeable with good wet combing properties, do not cause greasiness or stickness, and prevent 'frizzing' due to static charging after drying. In an example, a shampoo was made contg. 31.4% sodium lauryl sulphate, 7% triethanolamine salt of cocoyl polypeptide condensate, 4.3% lauric acid alkanolamide, 46.8% water, 8% amphoteric acrylic acid copolymer, 0.2% perfume, 0.1% dye, 2% alkyl ammonium sulphonic acid betaine and 0.2% preservative.
