Sledge type rescue stretcher - is placed horizontally opposite helicopter cabin and hauled in up ramp by flexible sling on guide rope

The sledge-type rescue stretcher allows the operator to winch it aboard a helicopter while remaining seated, the winch being locked at maximum height. The stretcher is placed in the horizontal position opposite the cabin, when it can be hauled on board up a ramp using a small truck. Typically this may be done by a flexible sling sliding on a guide rope hooked to the central stretcher snap-hook. Tubular skids may be mounted in the lengthwise direction on the rear of the stretcher, the front part resting on a truck with rollers (6).
