Control system for solar heating installation - monitors temperatures at collector, exchanger inlet and storage tank auxiliary heating

The maximal utilisation of the available heat, at the least expense, as well as the overcoming of the thermal inertia of the plant, are achieved by a system for controlling a solar heating installation. The liquid transporting the heat is pumped round a closed circuit including the collector, a heat exchanger and a storage tank. The heat transporting liquid is only set in motion when the temperature in the collector exceeds that in the storage tank by a predetermined amount. When the temperature in the tank falls below a predetermined value, the auxiliary heater is switched on, and, if it is switched on, as soon as the temperature of the water entering the exchanger is higher than that in the storage tank, the auxiliary heater is switched off.
