The machine is used for looping the ends of coil springs and comprises four rams equally spaced around a central point. Two rams (12, 15) opposite each other, advance to hold the spring (14) firmly within closed half-tools (13, 16). One of these rams has an arm (17, 18) which rotates upwards and raises the free end (29a) of the spring into the vertical plane (29b) and against a die face (21). Another arm (22, 23), on the third ram (20), rotates to form the loop (29c) over the die. The fourth ram (25) carries a shear tool (26) which trims the loop end to size.
