The chimney stack consists of a base frame which rests on the roof timbers. The frame has vertical components which support a rectangular tube (4) surrounding the chimney pipe (2). The top of the tube has a flanged end piece (5) which fits over the tube (4) and is close to the stack (2). A cowl (6) is bolted onto the flanged end piece (5) and has suitable seals between the cowl and the chimney. The cowl is fitted with through ducts to allow cross draft above the chimney.
