The knife has a long steel blade, which has a coating contg. diamonds on both sides of the blades and on =1 of its two longitudinal edges. The coating pref. has a width of 0.5-3 mm and contains diamonds with grainsize 30-200 mu. Both edges of the blade are pref. curved in an arc, and are covered with the diamond which extends over the edges onto the sides of the blade. The blade is pref. 6-15 cm long, and is fitted with a handled provided on each side with a curved recess facilitating the holding of the knife by a human hand during the cutting operation.
