The thermally driven heat pump system is intended for a central heating and/or cooling installation. It comprises a number of separate hermetically sealed thermally driven heat pumps connected in cascade. The arrangement may be such that heat is exchanged with the environment at more than three different temp. levels. The heat dissipation may be from a condenser other than the lowest temp. condenser. When used as a central heating system, the heat absorbed from the environment at low temp. is pref. taken from a space whose temp. is kept above 5 deg. to 8 deg. C by the heating system.
