BARRIER TYPE PHOTOVOLTAIC CELLS WITHENHANCED OPEN-CIRCUIT VOLTAGE, AND PROCESS AND MANUFACTUREAbstractA cadmium telluride photovoltaic cell is producedwith increased conversion efficiency arising from enhancedopen-circuit voltage. Such voltage is achieved by alteringthe surface of the crystalline cadmium telluride that contactsthe barrier metal by heating the cadmium telluride in thepresence of oxygen prior to depositing the barrier metal.-1-
