The glider towrope with detachable connectors and rated breaking point uses a textile rope (2) with a soft-plastics abrasion preventing sleeve (3). The rope ends are passed through a rubber anti-kinking sleeve (8) and a cylindrical socket (5) with well-rounded shoulders (6, 7). Knots in the individual strands (4) retain the rope in this socket, which at its open end has drillings (11) for a pin (12) of rated shear strength holding a plug (14) with a connecting eye (17). The anti-kinking sleeve tapers from one, cylindrical, end (9) covering the socket to the other, thinner walled and a tight fit around the rope sheath.
