The energy utilisation system uses the primary energy of a gaseous medium when compressed and of gas turbine installations by coupling to suitable additional cooling and heat pump loops. Heat is extracted from the gas about to be compressed using an extra cooling loop before the gas enters the compressor. The cooling loop uses a fluid as heat carrier and is coupled to a heat exchanger. The temp. at which the compressor is entered is then reduced. Cooling is accomplished with the coolant or by an intermediate heat-exchanger system, eg using water. The gas being compressed is cooled as normal to room temp. and then cooled below room temp. before entering the compressor. The heat generated by compression is used to drive an absorption cooler which cools the gas.
